Easter Sunday

Sunday was spent bringing Grandma, Dai Gu Gu and Jie Jie to the new Tampines Ikea and Giant. As Gwendolyn fell asleep half way through, the adults have decided to head to Bugis to shop ad have dinner around there as well. We stopped by at Starbucks for some coffee, whilst Lyn Lyn observed the kids playing at the water fountain.

Easter Saturday

Again, nothing was specially planned for this weekend, whilst Mama was preparing brunch, Gwendolyn and Papa were watching Spot and Dora vcds and reminded Lyn Lyn of Spot's band and Dora's muscial procession. Both were trying out the various instruments in Lyn Lyn's possession from last year's birthday.

As Papa Mama tried to see whether Uncle Don, Auntie Lena, Uncle Victor and Auntie Ya Ya's availability, the adults have decided to meet at Orchard before returning home to cook a sumptuous meal. The best part was when we've finally managed to find a Cinderella costume for Lyn Lyn and she was so happy! When being asked: where are your glass slippers? Lyn Lyn responded: I only have my sandals...I don't have glass slippers! The adults laughed!

Auntie Ya Ya notified Mama of a private Furla sale from the newspapers and both ladies went to shop for some heavily discounted new bags...after that, all adults went to IMM Giant to get some fresh seafood! YES, and really fresh seafood: LIVE prawns and LIVE crabs! Yum Yum...guess who cooked chilli crab? It was Uncle Victor...whilst Mama cooked drunken prawns...and most importantly, Lyn Lyn's favourite broccoli!

Good Friday

Nothing much has been planned for this Easter weekend, so Papa Mama brought Gwendolyn to Tiong Bahru market for some breakfast before returning home for some sports action! Remember Lyn Lyn's got her new bowling and badminton sets from last weekend? Mama played with Lyn Lyn in the corridor at home. See how well she can play...

Sunday @ Forum

Nothing planned for today and Mama wanted to have brunch at Zion Road for fried carrot cake. After brunch, we went to Forum for a walk...in search for princess costume for Gwendolyn's birthday, as she wanted to be one in her birthday party! We headed to Toys R Us, hoping to find some costumes and Lyn Lyn specified that she wanted to be Cinderella. However, the Cinderella costume was too big and Mama asked Lyn Lyn to try on the Belle costume. Desparate she was and she agreed to anything, as long as it's princess...Papa wasn't convinced that Lyn Lyn was able to carry the costume and Mama helped Lyn Lyn to try on the spot...

Mama convinced her that the dress didn't really fit her and promised to go to some other places to search for a Cinderella costume. We left it there and knew that if worse come to worse, we cannot find a blue one, we can still fall back to this Belle costume...she looked quite sweet in it too!

We walked along and she was all excited with the fireman helmet...she insisted on wearing it until we reached the bicycle section...Oh well, she's still having some problem with paddling and Papa Mama still cannot get her a bicycle for her birthday! Com' on Lyn Lyn...try harder...

Busy Saturday

What's nice for breakfast? We are going to meet Uncle Dennis, Mama's uni friend for lunch today, but we wanted some light breakfast...Papa suggested that we have some roti prata...Mama ordered a new creation for Gwendolyn, prata with sausage...non-original prata...but she loved it!

Sorry...Mama forgot to take a picture of Uncle Dennis with Lyn Lyn...when Lyn Lyn was struggling to remember whether that was Uncle Dentist or Uncle Dennis...Oh well...

After the lunch at East Ocean Teo Chew Restaurant at the Shaw Centre, we went to Eunos to visit baby Miky...Lyn Lyn was so excited, as she thought Miky = Mickey and she thought she was going to see baby Mickey Mouse...

Apart from Baby Miky, Auntie Manzie brought Bravis Di Di along...isn't he cute with big round eyes? But he was kind of cranky that day and kept crying since Lyn Lyn arrived...

In fact, Lyn Lyn was kind of tired too, without napping all the way. Mama reminded her that she'll be meeting Summer for steamboat dinner tonight and she'd better nap for a while beforehand. If not, she'll be another cranky one again...she mumbled for a while after leaving Uncle Michael and Auntie Taky's house and fell asleep shortly after. Papa Mama went to the steamboat restaurant and waited for Uncle Don, Auntie Lena, Auntie Ya Ya and Summer...when Summer say Lyn Lyn, she was all excited...even though she woke Lyn Lyn up, but Lyn Lyn wasn't angry. When Mama raised the camera, Summer immediately posed and tilted her head towards Lyn Lyn...so lovely!

Bowling @ Chevron...Part II

This morning, whilst all of us were trekking, Auntie Lena asked whether we'd like to meet up to go to the zoo. Instead of joining them, we decided to go for a bowling game again! Mama reminded Gwendolyn to take a nap before meeting Summer, as they were going for bowling again...as she'd like to play with Summer, she obediently napped for a while, so as to maintain her energy level for one of her favourite "ball" games!

At first, we met them at Mount Faber SAFRA Club, hoping to play there. However, after enquiring their facilities, Mama noted that they do not have the kid's lanes. No choice, we headed back to The Chevrons again for the game! Similar to the night before, it's Summer's first time and Lyn Lyn's third time, she had no problems handling things by herself...she played confidently throughout...and this time, Auntie Lena brought snacks and she still managed to took some snacks in between her turns...EXPERT!

It was very cold the night before...Papa was smart to have brought Lyn Lyn's jacket along!

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve...Part II

After yesterday's experience at the Nature Reserve, this morning, we're all geared up with the right attire before heading to the Nature Reserve! Gwendolyn's even brought 2 Steves along to attract the monkeys!

The car park was crowded and Papa dropped Lyn Lyn and Mama inside the car park before trying to find a lot outside the compound. Half way, Papa called and told Mama that there were 2 monkeys outside. Mama hurried to bring Lyn Lyn out to see, but the monkeys ran quite far away already. Lyn Lyn was a little disappointed, but at least, she catched a glimpse of them running back into the woods!

The real action starts with the initial slope up the trek! Lyn Lyn walked for 3 seconds and asked Papa to carry her...Mama insisted that she tried trekking upwards by herself, just like the other kids around us...but the slope was really steep and Papa just carried Lyn Lyn up to the first resting point, whilst Mama took her time to walk up, as she's having some teambuilding event the next day and she didn't want to tire herself out too much!

When we're up on the flatter ground, Lyn Lyn started walking by herself, drinking water every 5 seconds and wiping her face every 3 seconds...

Where's the monkey? Lyn Lyn thought that having 2 Steves peeping out from Mama's backpack can attract the real ones!

Papa carry...Lyn Lyn helped Papa to dab away the sweat, so that he can carry her!

Which way to go? Lyn Lyn's chosen the route to Summit, following the yellow path

The yellow path is the longest trail, leading to the Jungle Fall...

With a steep and difficult trek...Lyn Lyn insisted to go by the yellow path, but decided that it's too difficult. After going up, we headed back down again and she agreed to have a change in course to follow the red sign instead!

Unlike the yellow muddy path, the red is easier concrete road and Lyn Lyn walked all the way to the Summit by herself!

Bowling @ Chevrons...Part I

Frederick Di Di and me were supposed to swim, but he's kind of feverish, due to molar teething. Instead, the adults went for dinner at Jurong East red chair coffee shop for curry fish head and decided to play bowling at the Chevrons near IMM afterwards! It's Gwendolyn's second time, but Frederick Di Di's first time. Lyn Lyn acted like an expert, asking for her shoes and looking for a suitable bowling! She was all set to play a good game all by herself, refusing help from Papa and Mama totally!

Lyn Lyn's score wasn't as good as her first try at the Singapore Swimming Club...

Lyn Lyn didn't nap today and played all day, including a swim earlier...she's tired and lied down on the chairs for a while...

Swimming Pool...Long Time No See

After the short trekking at Hindhere Park, we decided to go home for a swim, since Gwendolyn hasn't had a swim in the big pool for quite some time! She was very keen on putting on her swimming costume + her swimming cap. Don't ask Papa or Mama why? But that's something that she always asks for nowadays, for her water play in school! Even though she looks a little weird and sloppy (Papa suggested that she looks like 济公, which Mama quite agree with), she enjoys wearing as such...

At first, she did her usual, putting on her floaty, splashing water here and there for a while...and when Mama suggested to go "under" and asked whether Lyn Lyn wanted to give it a go (during recent bath times, Lyn Lyn will intentionally slide herself low down in the bathtub, until her head almost go under the water), she immediately agreed. Papa and Mama worked towards removing her floaty and she was all excited. Giving all the precautions in squeezing her nose before dunking her in, she wasn't scared at all, even being submerged under the water! Papa carried on by bringing her back to the shallow steps and asked her to hold onto the side of the pool, so that she can submerge herself voluntarily! Surprisingly, she LOVED it! She couldn't stop herself from doing so and trying out various variations by walking up and down the stairs and submerging herself at each step! Good move towards starting her for swimming lessons...maybe?!

Over to the baby pool and continue dunking...great that she's not scared, which means that Lyn Lyn can start proper swimming class soon?! Funny thing is: she's not scared of dunking herself in the pool, but she's scared of water running down her face whilst taking a shower??? WHY???
