Results From Comex

The annual Comex show will attract a lof of IT followers, do really splurge on the IT sector. So happen this year, Mama needs to but a netbook and Papa wanted to buy another DVD recorder for her mobile arrangements. In the end, we rushed there and stayed for like 1 and a half hours, trying to finish buying everything before Geraldine wakes up from her nap...we managed quite well, as we've bought all the things that we've planned to buy and everyone is happy : Lyn Lyn's DVD player, Big monitor for Lyn Lyn's laptop, Mama's netbook, and even a new DVD player which has a USB port, which is supposed to be able to play "downloaded" shows directly from an external device on the TV. Sounds good, but hasn't tried yet. Just a snapshot of the few things that we've bought!

Whilst Papa and Mama were trying to open the boxes and setup all the necessary, Geraldine was posing at the kiddy sofa...she looks so "mature" and tall in this sofa and posture!

Day Trip to Malacca

1 September is a designated Teacher's Day in Singapore and most of the pre-schools are closed. Papa and Mama took leave to be with Gwendolyn and have decided to do something different...instead of wandering around the shopping centres wasting money, we've agreed to make a day trip to Malacca. Not too far away, about 2-3 hours from Singapore, depending on the traffic. Since we are going to Malaysia, we agreed that it is not appropriate to bring Geraldine along, due to the fact that it's a long car ride and the hygiene condition, she is to stay at grandma's place with maid jie jie for the day! We set off by packing our essential items: cold drinks, tidbits, portable DVD, etc etc...

Unfortunately, the weather was not perfect. It was drizzling when we arrived :( Less than perfect, but surprisingly, the town was very quiet, Mama would have thought that some Singaporean parents would have taken leave for some short trips as well. First stop is our lunch stop : Chicken Ball Ball Rice, something special in Malacca! Initially, Papa and Mama wanted to go back to the "original" chicken ball ball rice, which they have tried before. However, there were so many new ones that looks so attractive, we've decided to try one with "choi-san's" face, as a recommended location...but that was the worst mistake, as the food does not live up to standard...

We ordered chicken (misture of white and roasted), 10 pieces of "ball ball rice", beansprouts and asam fish...all were disappointing, except for the condition of the beansprouts~! We swear we've never seen such short and fat beansprout before...that was an interesting one. Other than that, the food was horrible...

At the back of this restaurant, it had a little exhibition on China Qing history (weird...can't understand why this historical display was up in a Malaysian restaurant. anyway), with costume rental for photo taking. However, since this is a weekday and no one was manning the "site", Lyn Lyn just put on the costumes and tool a couple of pictures to pretend to be a Qing dynasty princess! Her modern look betrayed her, as she didn't look as "cute" as wearing her original Hellot Kitty outfit!

After the not-so-impressive meal, we went for some typical sightseeing : the infamous red church, the windmill, the "river", which are places that you must take picture at, to proof that you have really been to Malacca!

Since we don't think Lyn Lyn would understand the special war sites and why Malacca managed to qualify as an UNESCO World Heritage site, We've decided to drop the idea of visiting the "museums", war sites, etc and jumped striaight into the big shopping complex! Lyn Lyn had the most, as she bought a pretty dress, which is half of what we would pay in Singapore, some towel sets, snacks, etc. All Malaysia trips will not be complete, until we've purchased the handy-pack of Lyn Lyn's milk. This time round, Papa and Mama grabbed 10 boxes and that was truly value-for-money!

The shopping was rather short, as we still need to drive back to JB for Bah Kut Teh and return to Singapore, to prepare for work and school the following day! As expected, Lyn Lyn fell asleep on the return trip and almost skipped dinner. Luckily, she managed to wake up and tasted this special Bah Kut Teh that we liked!

It was such a tiring trip, espcially for Papa, as he was the sole driver along the way. But Papa and Mama are very sure that Lyn Lyn had the best Teacher's Day ever!

My New Friend - Marcus

Mama's colleagues came to our house for some weekend activities. Unfortunately, it was raining and the adults can't proceed with their planned tennis game...instead of playing Wii in the afternoon, Gwendolyn requested to play Wii with Auntie Ronnie, whilst Mama prepared for our lunch!

After lunch, the adults started their mahjong game, which ended up playing for 12 rounds...exceeded any of Mama's records so far...it was a very fast 12 rounds and all the adults were very tired afterwards!

When the adults were playing mahjong, Geraldine played with her new friend, Marcus, who's only 2 days younger than her...how cute!

Emiko Art @ IMM L3

Gwendolyn hasn't done any art work at Emiko for a long time and finally, Papa and Mama brought her there for lunch! This time, not only Lyn Lyn was all excited to do this art work again, but Geraldine was all set to help too! The 2 sisters co-ordinated well : Lyn Lyn has chosen one with both Mickey and Minnie, where she said Geraldine likes them; and Geraldine, pull 3 hairs from the bench, preparing for the 3 of us to sit down for the art work together! How lovely!

Whilst Lyn Lyn chose her favourite colours to create her art work, Geraldine held the paint bottles with Mama's help, in colouring parts of the art work...

After the creative art session, both girls jumped onto Cookie Monster for a quick kiddy ride! But observing from Geraldine's face, she didn't really enjoy the squeezy space shared with Lyn Lyn...it's too cramp for 2!

Dinner @ Ju Shin Jung

16 was Gu Gu's birthday, all of us went to Ju Shin Jung for dinner, at West Coast, Yess Centre! As usual, Papa has booked a table next to the "playroom"...the kids were over-joyed and jumped straight into the "playroom", refusing their dinner/to eat! Except for Lucas, who had no choice but to sit down and had his diner first!

A sumptuous meal...so much Korean Appetizer...

Apart from the BBQ meat that we've ordered, there was ginseng chicken, korean seafod pancake, all were extremely yummy!

What about the babies? The babies were playing in the "playroom", throwing balls, climbing up and down...enjoying the fun!

Instead of picking up the balls from the floor directly, Geraldine chose to bend down...there was another "sumo" baby around....really sumo!!!

Geraldine was trying to be funny, she kept washing her hands in the "sink"...whilst showing Mama how "clean" her hands are!

Surely, not forgetting the "custom-made" slide by the restaurant management, so that the kids can slide into the pool of balls! See how Geraldine was enjoying herself. She wasn't scared at all...just by looking at how fast she slide down (her hair is all over the place when sliding downwards) and how eager she was to keep going up and down the stairs to the slides!

Lastly, not forgetting to mention this old-fashion kiddy ride, where it goes round and round like a wheel, with the seat being able to swing side-ways...Mama didn't have any coins for Geraldine to try going round and round...she created her own game by shaking sideways whilst sitting on the seat...with great laughters :) Brave girl!!!

Badminton Babe

Look at the way Geraldine is holding the badminton racket and the shuttle cock...she was fool people that she "can" play badminton! Amazing gal! She knows that the shuttle cock must land on the racket in order to pop up!

Lookalike Sisters

This is the first time Mama tried to tie both girls with a similar hair style...time flies...Geraldine's hair is long enough for tying a pair of "pig-tail"...see...they looked so cute together! Unlike Gwendolyn, Geraldine only managed to keep her hair tied for a short while...she felt uncomfortable and removed both hair bands by herself...

Jordan's Birthday Party

Ms Jam invited Gwendolyn to attend Jordan's 8th birthday party @ the new school that she's working at within the Turf City compound! Initially, Papa and Mama wanted to bring Geraldine along, for her to run around and mix around with the other kids for some fun! However, as usual, she fell asleep after lunch and Papa had no choice but to send her home! Whilst Mama proceeded to send Lyn Lyn to the party!

The school compound is so spacious and even Lyn Lyn couldn't help herself, but to be amazed at the amount of outdoor space available! Since we're early, Mama brought Lyn Lyn inside Turf City for a quick walk around, until it's time for the real party! It was like going back in time, almost like 3 years ago, when Lyn Lyn first went to Etonhouse, where Angelique and Francesca were in K2, Jordan was in K1, Maia was in N1 and Lyn Lyn in PN...Looking at the 4 girls below? They've all grown so much!!! Lyn Lyn is no longer that chubby baby that all were hugging and taking care of :)

Thanks to Por Por...this little new dress made Geraldine look like a little ballerina...with her floating movement...it was really an illusion :P

Haircut

Geraldine's hair growth is not as fast as Gwendolyn...it took like more than 4 months, before Papa need to give her a trim! See...quite similar to what Lyn Lyn used to do, sitting in the bumble chair for the cut...Good girl...she didn't really move around much before Papa finished with her fringe!

Trolley Frenzy

After the Ion trip, we went to Cold Storage @ Jelita to grab some food for dinner, since Gwendolyn has not shopped with the kid's trolley for a long time and Mama wanted to buy some breakfast from Cedele. Geraldine's been used to sitting in the big shopping trolley whenever we visit the supermarket...she thought that the kid's trolley was for her to sit in as well. She insisted to sit inside Lyn Lyn's trolley, so that Lyn Lyn can push her around...initially, there were some disagreement between the sisters, as Lyn Lyn wanted to put food in her trolley instead of a toddler...later, Lyn Lyn compromised that she'll ferry the toddler, whilst Mama have a bigger trolley to take care of the raw food!

See how the little ones were enjoying themselves, touring around the supermarket in the kid's trolley! For Papa and Mama, both had a good time, choosing some tasty food for dinner...we had roast chicken, roast rack of lamb (which was yummy!!!), roast potato, asparagus and Lyn Lyn's favourite golden mushroom! We had a nice and easy cooking dinner! Yum Yum...

Ion Orchard

Recently, there were a few new or newly revamped shopping malls on Orchard Road...since we haven't been to Orchard for a long time...yes...we haven't been for THE LONGEST time, just imagine that we didn't really go for the Great Singapore Sale and missed 2-3 Taka member sale...that's considered LONG...

On the way, Geraldine refused to sit in her car seat, as always...she asked Mama to unbuckle her from her car seat and tried to sit at the normal passenger seat. Mama buckled her with the adult seat belt and she as a little lost whilst Mama tried to buckle her up...

Auntie Rachelle told Mama that Itacho Sushi (same as the outlet at Festival Walk) was very nice at Ion Orchard, the latest hip iconic building on Orchard, jointly developed by Capitaland and Sung Hung Kai, Papa and Mama decided to go for a try! First comments about Ion is that, the car park was horrible and the car park lift sucks...it took ages to wait for the lift...those who were waiting at the lift lobby were cursing and scolding about how terrible it was...

Finally, we managed to take the lift down into the main shopping areas...L1 to L4 are the high-end super branded items, e.g. LV, Miu Miu, Valentino, etc...which most people wouldn't be patronising. For us, we dived straight underground to B1-B4, where there is almost a whole level of food at B4. The one that we're looking for was at B2...it took us like 15-20 min before we managed to find it...

What a coincidence...Auntie Taky, Uncle Michael and Miky were at the table behind. All of us heeded advise from Auntie Rachelle and went there for lunch on Sunday! Papa was so excited when he saw the BIG raw scallop sushi on the menu and quickly ordered to verify whether it was the same as the one that we tried at Festival Walk...BINGO...it was the same! Thank goodness...finally, there's nice and affordable Japanese food that Mama likes...guess what? Gwendolyn was interested in what Papa and Mama were eating...when Mama told her that it's scallop, she said she wanted to try (as she likes to eat braised dried scallop)...after one tiny strand, she told Mama that she likes eating that scallop! Wow...this is the first time that Lyn Lyn tried raw food and she's in love with it! No doubt she's Mama's darling daughter, with the same food taste as her picky Mama...haha

After the sumptuous and satisfying meal...all of us proceeded to take a tour around the shopping mall. First and foremost, from the list of tenants at Ion, Mama concluded that it's not a child-friendly shopping mall, as there was barely and shops for kids! Since it's still new, there were loads of people crowding everywhere and it wasn't very pleasant to shop there, especially with these 2 very active kids around...but Mama can tell that these 2 sisters really enjoyed themselves at the shopping and displayed their affection towards each other so well...Geraldine insisted on holding Lyn Lyn's hand whilst shopping...she cried, when Papa carried her to go onto the escalator, as it was too dangerous for her! Aren't these sisters lovely?

Poolside BBQ @ Home

It's been a long time since the group last met for a BBQ...imagine when was the last time? Apparently, it was more than a year ago, back in June 2008...that time, the 3 baby girls : Geraldine, Felicia and Liv were just between 3-6 months! Now, look at the 3 baby girls, they've changed so much and now, ranging from 16 - 19 months...time flies!

Surprisingly, the Papas and Mamas prepared food that was just nice for everyone to prevent wastage! Our all time favourites are : chicken wings, fish ball, sotong ball, otah, satay, sausages, golden mushrooms, corn on cob, prawns...this time round with teriyaki sotong included, as Mama couldn't buy stingray!

The good thing about booking the poolside BBQ bit was the close proximity to our flat (just in case we've forgotten to bring certain things) and the nearby children's playground, so that the parents can observe the kids! When the kids have finished eating, they can't wait to dive into the playground again for mor fun, the little ones including...

After the BBQ, everyone went back home and Geraldine had a quick bath with Felicia...Liv was a little shy and cautiously observing the other 2. Isn't it cute to put them together in the following picture and observe what they do with each other?! Liv...it's time for you to catch up with the 2 jie jies and not be so shy!!!

Gwendolyn's Creation

Everyone knows that Gwendolyn was once in love with Dora and Boots! Finally, she's taken some time to draw the Dora and Boots in her own hands...Papa and Mama finds that her drawing of Dora was really fantastic! No one would doubt that she was actually trying to draw Dora! Well done, Lyn Lyn!

Breakfast Time

Nowadays, Geraldine loves to follow whatever Gwendolyn does...if Lyn Lyn eat bread for breakfast, she'll run to the kitchen and ask for "mum mum", pointing at the bread...so that she can sit side-by-side with Jie Jie for breakfast! Mama finds Geraldine's motor skills in eating very cute, especially she loves her own pincer grip, even in picking up bread pieces! What's more? She loves watching TV, just like Lyn Lyn...and knows how to open the drawer that holds the key remote controls, bringing them to either Papa or Mama to say "Dee Bee"...requesting for omeone to switch on for her to watch! Haha...

Singapore Zoo

It's been a while since we've last been to the zoo, after joining as Friends of the Zoo...Uncle Chee Keong asked for a trip and Uncle Don and Auntie Lena are able to join too...Yippee!!!

Without fail, the girls would want to "ride" on the Ben & Jerry's cow upon arrival...

Evern since the zoo accident, the white tigers have become all the more popular than ever! But Mama didn't know that tiger swims too...
